Ford: Taking the Mustang's 50th Anniversary Celebration to New Heights

Fifty years ago, Ford introduced the Mustang convertible by setting it on top of the Empire State Building during the New York Auto Show. This year, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, Ford will repeat this feat and perch a 2015 Ford Mustang on the observation deck of the Empire State Building on the 86th floor.

Can you guess how they'll get it there? If you said crane, guess again. Helicopter? Sorry, wrong. Elevator? Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. That's right! The Ford team will chop the convertible into three separate parts and send them up in an elevator just like they did in 1965.

Check out these cool pictures from the original introductory stunt in 1965!
